  • Mortex Ltd. was founded in 1993 to meet the market demand for Chinese manufactured sporting goods.
  • Mortex began as a Hong Kong based trading company.
  • Starting in 1994, Mortex started its transition from a trading company to a manufacturing company.
  • Mortex chose Shanghai as its base of Mainland China operations because of its educated work force, developed environment, and high labor standards.

  • In 1994, Mortex set up its first factory in Shanghai, manufacturing baseball gloves.
  • In 1995, Mortex built its second factory, producing inflatable sports balls.
  • In 1997, the golf bag factory was set up and put into operation.
  • Since its inception in 1993, Mortex has grown from a 3 man trading company to a 3 factory company
    with 1,300 employees and an annual output of 3 million balls and almost 400,000 golf bags.
  • In 2007, Mortex will consolidate all its operations in one factory campus.
  • The company’s goal is for this entire campus to be compliant to Western labor standards.
 
 
Mortex’s investment in this new facility marks another turning point for the company. These larger, more modern factories will usher in a new era of output, quality, and efficiency in production as well as consolidate the capital resources and management talent of the two operations.
